About FIKE

FIKE stands for Fountain Inn Kid Enrichment. We are a free after-school and mentoring center for students in our community of Fountain Inn.

Mission

Our mission at FIKE is simple – to ENRICH, EDUCATE and ENCOURAGE the students we serve.

What We Do

Our after-school program meets five days a week at Capstone Church (601 Fairview Street, Fountain Inn, SC 29644). We have four classes – Kindergarten through second grade girls; Kindergarten through second grade boys; 3-5 grade girls; and 3-5 grade boys. We offer help with homework and reading, small group activities and character lessons, games, and we also feed them nutritious snacks and dinner.

We also pair students with a mentor, who meets with them once a week for 30 minutes to an hour.

How We Came About

The Frazee Dream Center is an after-school and mentoring program in West Greenville that serves over 100 children a week from their community. They challenged the leadership at Capstone Church to consider serving the children in Fountain Inn in a similar fashion, so the Fountain Inn Kid Enrichment Center was born!

The Fountain Inn Kid Enrichment Center, or FIKE Center, is now its own nonprofit organization. We are a public benefit corporation, and we are not affiliated with any religious organization. We are organized exclusively for charitable, literary, educational, and scientific purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code, and all donations are tax-exempt.

The FIKE Center continues to work with our friends at Frazee, YouthBASE, and several other organizations in Greenville to learn, grow and develop our programs. Their support through meetings, sharing of resources, and more has been invaluable in helping us get our program running. Also, our mentoring program is a part of Mentor Upstate, which serves Greenville, Pickens, and Anderson counties.
